Management Team
President, Unison Comfort Technologies
Jay Althof has overall leadership responsibility for Unison Comfort Technologies, which includes the Innovent, Valent, Precision Coils and Unison Systems & Services business units. Unison is one of the Greenheck Group companies. Prior to accepting a leadership role at Greenheck, Jay had been with Trane for 19 years and was Vice President, Global Controls and Contracting. During his career with Trane, he also held positions in customer service, product development, sales and marketing management, and business development. Additionally, his roles at Trane included International Business in Asia, Europe, and the America's. Prior to Trane, Jay was a staff engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado for three years doing research on alternative energy initiatives.
Jay has both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
Jay lives with his wife and two college-age daughters. He also sings with Vocality, an a cappella vocal quartet which has achieved recognition in international competitions.
Human Resources Director, Unison Comfort Technologies Betsy Copiskey currently has multiple responsibilities including human resources, safety, and facilities management. Her background has equipped her for range of business leadership roles. She transferred to Unison from Greenheck. Prior to that, Betsy worked at a small company she joined as an accountant and left the company 7 years later as human resources manager. Betsy holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. She is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources. Betsy is active with her family which includes her husband and two elementary-aged kids who play piano and participate in sports. She is a runner who regularly participates in running events.
Vice President Business Development, Unison Comfort Technologies
Gary Lochner's primary focus, as vice president of business development, is optimizing the success of the Unison network of reps . Gary's background includes experience in technical, sales, and marketing positions at a major HVAC manufacturer and a succession of roles at Heatex Inc., including leadership and equity stakes in this predecessor business of Unison Comfort Technologies.
Gary holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree with heat transfer emphasis from the University of Minnesota.
He resides in Minnesota with his wife and children who are active in soccer.
Director of Controls, Unison Comfort Technologies
As the controls leader for Unison Comfort Technologies, Jim McKeever is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of both Valent and Innovent factory-integrated controls.
Jim has 20 years of experience in the Building HVAC, Controls and Energy Management industry with emphasis on factory-integrated direct digital controls (DDC). He has extensive experience with air handling systems as well as open communication protocol standards, especially LonTalk and BACnet.
He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Jim resides in Minnesota with his wife and children who are active with hockey and golf. Jim is also a hockey official.
Controller, Unison Comfort Technologies
Bob Muller is responsible for providing financial and accounting support for the Unison Comfort Technology business units. He brings with him thirty years of experience in accounting, operational and strategic planning with manufacturing entities including Eli Lilly, Emerson Electric and MTS Systems.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.
He resides in Minnesota with his wife and has two daughters. He enjoys golf and basketball in his leisure time.
Vice President Engineering, Unison Comfort Technologies
Doug Ohs brings twenty five years experience with energy recovery and air handling equipment to his current role at Unison Comfort Technologies. Prior to this Doug was the General Manager for Innovent Air Handling Equipment. His tenure began as an application engineer with a related predecessor business. Over time Doug had increased his ownership equity stake in Heatex, Inc which was then sold to Greenheck Fan Corporation.
Doug graduated from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Doug enjoys spending time with his family and playing baseball in the summer and hockey in the winter.
Vice President and General Manager, Precision Coils
David Pflum has held executive leadership positions in Unison Comfort Technologies or predecessor companies for over 15 years, including Heatex, Innovent, and Valent. He brings engineering depth and an entrepreneurial attitude to a start-up or an established business.
David holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.
He lives with his wife and children with whom he enjoys time at their cabin and automobile trips.
Vice President of Systems and Services, Unison Comfort Technologies
In his role Brian Ranney leads the Systems and Services group for Unison focused on national account sales. Brian brings nearly three decades of experience in the HVAC industry. Prior to joining Unison, Brian held executive level positions in sales and marketing with Trane. Brian’s unique and broad depth of controls and applications knowledge enables Unison to deliver innovative HVAC system solutions to meet the needs of strategic account customers.
Brian received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in HVAC design, from the University of Minnesota.
He lives in Minnesota with his wife and 3 children. Together they enjoy fishing, traveling attending sporting events.
Vice President and General Manager, Valent Air Management Systems Jennifer Schroer leads the Valent business unit for Unison. Jennifer brings 25 years of experience in the HVAC industry where she has specialized in air handling, humidification, and control systems. Her expertise in marketing and product management has led to the successful introduction of many key product offerings. Prior to joining Unison, Jennifer held senior level positions with DriSteem, Trane, and Honeywell. Jennifer’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Wisconsin – Stout and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of St. Thomas. Outside of work, Jennifer stays busy with her family which includes her husband and two active teenagers.
Vice President and General Manager, Innovent Air Handling Equipment
Andy Wilcox oversees the strategic direction for the Innovent custom air handling business. In this role, Andy leads the Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations teams focused on providing customers with innovatively designed high quality custom air handling products backed by exceptional field service.
Before taking the helm at Innovent, Andy held senior level positions for Greenheck, Honeywell, and Trane. During his tenure as General Manager for the Energy Recovery Ventilator & Make-Up Air business with Greenheck, new products highlighting packaged refrigeration, water sourced heat pumps, and flat plate heat exchangers drove strong growth in revenue. Previously at Honeywell and Trane, he specialized in building automation systems.
Andy’s education includes a B.S. degree in Physics from the University of Wisconsin/River Falls and an MBA in Marketing from the University of St. Thomas/Minneapolis.
Andy lives in St. Paul, MN with his wife and their 2 children. He enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, camping, and hunting. Andy is also a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America.
